St Louis School for the Deaf and Blind
Needed:
- Used practical notebooks or old magazines for punching Braille script for blind students.
- Geometry boxes, notebooks etc for the deaf students
- Musical instruments, violin, harmonium, guitars, tabla, keyboard etc

- Special aids and appliances, equipment

Volunteers
- To read textbooks from 6th to 12th std, from 5.30 pm tp 7.30 pm or 6 am to 7 am on weekdays, on holidays from 9.15 am to 12.15 am.Both tamil and English medium required
- To record lessons into audio cassettes (can be done at home)
- Help teach spoken English classes – one a week
- Train in job-related fields such as physiotherapy, IT, copy editing, Carnatic music, graphic design, web design, fashion design etc

- Celebrate birthdays etc by sponsoring a meal for 300 hostel boys
- Sponsor hostel boys food and accommodation at Rs 800 a month for one child (for 10 months Rs 8000)
- Sponsor school uniforms – per child Rs 500 for one set

Sanctuary (Emotional support group for children with cancer, and their parents)
Needed:
Clean clothes, bedsheets etc
Hygienically packaged food, such as biscuits etc
Give gifts to the children at Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Easter etc
Volunteer:
Organize a workshop for children living with cancer. These workshops cover topics including acting, painting, music, miming and more
Entertain kids for an hour in the morning by singing, or a shows etc at the institute
Screen a movie viewing at the institute
Join an outreach program on anti-smoking for youngsters, or on women’s health issues
Volunteers to counsel children can be trained. Need to start by working for an hour or so a day at the counter, doing paperwork for the first year. After one year can graduate to counseling children fulltime, following training sessions.

Sponsor a 1-day workshop for children living with cancer. These workshops cover topics including acting, painting, music, miming and more. Bring some fun to these 30 children! (Rs 1000)
- Lunch for children living with cancer
Sponsor a specially prepared lunch for 30 children who are undergoing cancer treatment at the Cancer Institute and their parents ( Rs.2000)
- 1 cycle of chemotherapy for a person living with cancer
Sponsor one of the twelve cycles a person living with cancer generally undergoes over a six-month period
- Movie screening for people living with cancer
Gift a movie screening for patients at the Cancer institute in Chennai to lift their spirits and bring some fun into their lives. ( Rs.2000)
